14 Days of Chocolate*

Welcome to 14 Days of Chocolate!

Update: Feb. 4th Tasting canceled, due to no signups. Sorry!

“14 Days of Chocolate” is two weeks (February 1 – 14) of chocolate related-events on Big Island, Hawai’i. This is the first year, and is being hosted at Koana in Mountain View Village. There will be chocolate tastings at Koana and self-serve cacao farm tours around the island.

We have 8 different tastings planned, with one tasting every day except Sundays and Mondays. The first tasting is on Tuesday, February 1st. Every tasting will start at 12:30pm, and run to around 2:00pm.

The tastings will take place at the Koana Cultural Community in Mountain View Village, right next door to the Koana coffee shop. The area is big enough to have up to 8 participants, with 6 feet spacing.

Each tasting will include six or more different chocolates and some crackers and soda water to use between chocolates, to reset your taste buds :). Together, we’ll check the appearance, aroma, snap, texture, tastes and flavors of each chocolate. We’ll start every tasting with some cacao beans fresh from a pod, for a quick lesson on where chocolate comes from.

Tastings are $30 each, or $50 for a couple. If you pay in advance, they are $25 each, or $40 per couple. $150 will buy you a pass to attend all eight of the tastings.

Sign up for Tastings at Koana coffee shop in Mountain View Village, or send them an email at KoanaHawaii@gmail.com.

*Half of all profits from event sales during 14 Days are being donated to Project Hawai’i, a local children’s charity.
